You will report into the Unix Administrator and the IT Manager. They are looking for a world class administrator to support a growing business unit. As their Assistant UNIX Administrator, you will be responsible for hands-on system administration support; system maintenance and operational support of the UNIX servers.

Working with the Unix Administrator you will handle user support tasks, maintenance tasks and day-to-day management of the servers while assisting with long-term projects to improve the overall UNIX environment, assisting with documenting and reporting on the status of the network, automating day-to-day tasks, preventing and responding rapidly to downtime. Their setup is large and complex consisting of more than 50 servers running various versions of various UNIX operating systems. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - ASSIST WITH:
